I have been so encouraged by our last few weeks of Church. Danny Looney brought so much energy and a powerful message. Anthony set a powerful challenge in front of us, and Kim did a fantastic job leading us in worship last week.
I am so excited for the future of Fellowship Church. I believe we can see great things happen in our city if we choose to step into God’s calling on our lives. Anthony challenged us to find the things in life that are pulling us away from that calling and give them up. I know I immediately had things rush to my mind that are pulling me away from my calling. I’m the type of guy that can easily watch the day pass in front of me while I do nothing productive all day. Am I willing to give up my lazy days to see God use me instead?
I spent Sunday evening praying and asking God to show me how to give these things up. Which seems silly, but my selfish mind doesn’t want to even try to give these up. Those lazy days are mine and I deserve them gosh darn it! Right?
Nope, It may be nice to have those days of absolutely nothing. Which in it self is not a bad thing but if you’re like me and so easily fall into any “down time” being; turn your brain off and zone off into the infinity of the universe. Then that’s where it starts getting bad.
Here’s my point: If you felt God calling on your heart this weekend and showing you something that He wants you to give up so you an experience His calling on your life; Give It Up! You may think you need it, but when you start stepping into that calling those “needs” will start to fall away.
Have a good one!
