🎄MERRY CHRISTMAS🎄

*Featuring Sawyer completely exhausted after opening his presents this morning*

I’ve only been a mom for two Christmases now, but it has given me so much perspective on the reason we celebrate this beautiful holiday and the reality of how much Mary, the mother of Jesus, had to go through. She knew that her sweet, innocent, and perfect, little baby was going to suffer so much pain and rejection and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it. I imagine that this was something that haunted her daily, because it would haunt me. Just thinking about my son having to go through anything painful crushes me! But this woman was extremely strong, and that’s why God chose to use her. She understood the weight she would have to carry, and she did it. She was a very young girl that nothing significant had happened to-she had nothing that set her apart-except for her faith.
God chooses the most surprising and unexpected people to carry out his most amazing plans. Let it be you that he chooses.

“And he came to her and said, ‘Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!’ But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be. And the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end… And Mary said, ‘Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.’ And the angel departed from her.”
